Indie Game Mixtape 1: Fuck The Police Mix

Recently, I posted a sort of call to action for people to start making and sharing collections of some of their favorite indie games. Below is my Fuck The Police mix, since I thought I’d start out nice and easy. All of these are browser-based, so you can just click on the link and start playing them immediately. No downloads, no waiting, no problem. Secondly, they’ve all got an amazing sense of humor, bucking the trend of games that are either overly serious or devoid of personality that is all too common. All of them do what they want to do, and really stand out as such.

CLOP – Foddy.net
An insanely hard game where you control each leg of a Unicorn… individually. You may have played the infamous QWOP by the same developer, except this time you’re taunted by a douchey peasant. Features awkwardly falling all over the place and creative Victorian insults.

Lesbian Spider-Queens of Mars – Anna Anthropy
Just look at that fucking title, how are you even reading this instead of playing it right now? Well fine, if you’re not already convinced, you play as the titular Spider Queen and recapture your unruly slaves. BDSM overtones and fun arcade style action await you.

Rambo: Last Blood – Peter Javidpour
I don’t want to spoil what you actually do in this game, but it’s AWESOME. Made during the Molyjam, a game based on a list of concepts off of a twitter account that pokes fun at Peter Molyneux. That should give you a hint of how odd and awesome it is.

FLIP – Axel Shokk
A short and simple platformer that isn’t anything hugely special gameplay-wise, but the aesthetic and writing is fantastic. Flip tables, tell off the cops, and don’t give a single solitary fuck.

Ultimate Flirt-Off! – Radstronomical
Try to flirt with a cutie at a party, hilarity ensues. You have to quickly construct sentence fragments in to something that effectively flirts, without clicking on the segments like “hugghfjhf”. You can also drink beer to give yourself time, but that has the predictable results of adding more useless fragments to the pool. Just like real life.

Burrito Bison – Juicy Beast
Play as a luchadore trying to bounce off of jerkwad gummi bears. Simple and kind of addicting – not work safe (as in if you have work to do you might as well just forget about it).
