New Wreck-It Ralph Poster Features Licensed Characters
Is this news? No, not really. Its really just an excuse for me to put this beautiful new Wreck-It Ralph poster on display for you all to see. I don’t know about you, true believers, but I am psyched beyond words for this menagerie of classic game characters on the big screen.
This is the movie every gamer should have been waiting for, while instead we clamoured for the newest update on the Halo movie, the Gears of War trilogy, etc. This is our history for everyone to see, and much the way that Marvel’s recent movie line has brought comics into the spotlight, hopefully, Wreck-It Ralph can nurture a renewed interest in classic gaming and bring these characters into the public eye.
Or it won’t, and it’ll still be effing amazing. Let’s face it, this movie is either going to be a Finding Nemo or the next Scott Pilgrim, and frankly I’m okay with either.
See the full poster after the jump…
I’m still scratching my head at how they managed to get the rights to use these characters. Apparently, Sega and Nintendo had a bit of a…license measuring contest during the creation of the support group scene, in which they went back and forth in a manner such as this:
Disney: Here’s the final product guys.
Nintendo: No no no, this is all wrong. Bowser is much bigger than M. Bison.
Disney: Oh, alright, we’ll make him bigger.
Capcom: Wait! M. Bison is easily larger than Bowser is!
Disney: Oh, okay, I guess we can change that….
(Rinse, repeat, several times).
